FATHER OF TEEN WHO DIED AFTER 2.4KM RUN ACCEPTS HIS DEATH, BUT STILL FINDS IT HARD TO COPE

Dear A.S.S. Editor

The father of the boy who died after he took part in a 2.4km run in school said that when the family are alone in their home, the memories of their son come flooding back, and he struggled to cope with the loss of his second child.

Pastor Davy Sim, the father of Benjamin Sim Wen Ming, added that it was not easy, but the family has accepted his death, and that they are coping. Mr Sim also said that he was Benjamin's stress reliever, someone the teen enjoyed relaxing with.

Mr Sim has an elder son, and shared that Benjamin had no history of any medical conditions. It was understood that Benjamin had keeled over and hit his head on the ground near the school foyer after completing the run around the school in Ang Mo Kio. Police are still investigating the death. Benjamin will be cremated on Friday at the Mandai Crematorium.
