MOTORIST END UP PAY $30 TO EXIT SG BECAUSE MACHINE CANNOT DETECT CARD

A Malaysian motorist had difficulty paying via his auto pass after the machine at the custom failed to read his card. He had no choice but to go to the office to make payment. Normally he would only need to pay $4 dollars for a day in SG.

He was told to pay $20 + $10 service charge at Woodlands customs office as the machine was not working. The previous 5 days that he came in Singapore did not deduct.

5 Days X 4 Dollars = $20

$10 service charge, because he had to pay at the office. So the machine spoil the $10 charge motorist pay?

Meaning a total of $30. He said that this made no sense. Why should he pay an additional $10 for the card machine that failed?
