Illegal immigrants attending Columbia University are demanding that the school grant them special privileges. They want housing, healthcare, and increased financial aid packages.
A particularly entitled group of illegal immigrants attending Columbia University have published a list of thirteen outrageous demands.
The students insist that the school defy federal law by shielding them from deportation as well provide healthcare and subsidized housing. They also feel that illegal students should have access to extra financial aid.
The group, known as the Undocumented Students Initiative or “UndoCU,” seems to believe that being an undocumented migrant is akin to being high school valedictorian. According to their worldview, students who are in the country illegally deserve special consideration by administrators.
“We refuse to amend or change any of these demands,” the group wrote in a Facebook post. “[W]e expect the university to act.”
“How will the university help us cope with our legal working rights being taken away? How will the university help with our inability to pay tuition or housing? In all possible senses, how will the university provide the proper support that will allow us to thrive as students and contributing members of our university community?”

The left’s enthusiasm for the cause has given illegals the courage to protest in the streets. Liberals hope to defy President Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
America’s undocumented migrants are taking full advantage of the left’s determination to stymy President Trump. Liberal enclaves across the country have declared themselves “sanctuary cities.” It’s now popular among Democrats to support total amnesty for illegals.
Columbia is such a liberal university that it’s possible that administrators will comply with the student’s demands.
“Much like sexual health training, it is imperative that immigration subjects be treated with the proper language and information,” the group insists. “It is unacceptable for students to be called ‘illegal’ in their own classrooms or for professors to tell us to ‘get legal.”

Protesting has become the left’s favorite past-time. The Obama administration granted pseudo-legal status to “Dreamers,” young people who had been brought into the States illegally while they were children.
Universities shouldn’t be expected to coddle their students. If an undocumented migrant chooses to risk exposure by attending an American university, then professors should be allowed to notice their status. New York City is a sanctuary city; city authorities won’t arrest migrants who don’t have a criminal record.
“We also demand full reimbursement of the health insurance fees,” the group wrote. “How can administration contact and keep in touch with undocumented students without a record of students that the administration may be in the future be forced to relinquish to federal authorities?”
Millennials are becoming very demanding. It’s now trendy to demand that your school adhere to arbitrary sets of social rules. Illegal immigration, however, should be considered beyond students’ purview. Federal law dictates what should happen to illegal immigrants, not the local student association.
“We want the university as a whole and individual schools to raise funding to specifically support undocumented students in both undergrad and grad schools with the objective of creating undocumented student specific scholarships and grants,” the group wrote. “Need-based funding must be available for undocumented students at all Columbia University and affiliated schools.”

The so-called dream act remains controversial. Many conservatives hope that President Trump will revoke the temporary legal status that the Obama administration granted to millions of undocumented migrants.
Columbia students are already unbelievably privileged. They’re lucky enough to attend one of the best schools in the country. Why should illegals receive special treatment? Lack of a social security number shouldn’t be treated like an honor.
Colleges across the U.S. are bending over backward to comply with students’ demands. Activist groups are common on campus. Republican students are drowned in Democrats. Conservative thought is rarely uttered by Millennials.
American universities are losing their intellectual rigor. Administrators are too focused on pleasing students’ fickle wants. The illegals attending Columbia admit that they’re already being charged reduced tuition, but “the calculations are inaccurate and leaves graduating students with exorbitant amounts of account balances which potentially hinders their request for academic transcripts and degrees.”
The group’s demands so far have not been answered. It’s probable, however, that liberal pressure will force Columbia administrators will give the group exactly what they want.
