Commuters caught in today's double whammy train disruption expose SMRT's incompetence in its response and recovery efforts in both incidents.
According to Twitter user Sandy, commuters were trapped in the train for two hours between Marymount and Caldecott.
Many also reported that there were no shuttle bus services provided at some stations contrary to what SMRT had claimed in its Twitter update.
In addition, the disruption was also not just limited to the stretch that SMRT claimed. At least 2 commuters said they waited for more than 10 mins at Simei and Aljunied.
It is very baffling that despite the frequent breakdowns, both LTA and the PTOs continue to fall short in providing rapid and effective response. Just imagine the consequences if this was a terrorist attack?
