Gerald Kok Zhin Oi, 23, was charged in court for killing his pet poodle.
The toy poodle, named Treasure, was his pet dog but he mistreated and abused it seven times from July to December 2016.
Gerald hit the poodle with a sofa cushion on multiple occasions. Sometimes he would use a clothes hanger to beat the poodle.
On December 25, 2016, Gerald picked the poodle up from the bed it was resting on and flung it towards the corner of the bed. He did it again, as if playing with a ball. He then took the poodle to another bedroom and hurled it towards the bed. Unfortunately, the poodle hit the wall with a loud thud and died from its head injuries.
His case will be heard in court on June 21. Gerald faces up to 1.5 years in jail or a fine of up to $15,000 if convicted for animal abuse.
