CHEAT TRIES TO SCAM ON CAROUSELL, GETS ARRESTED BY POLICE

Dear A.S.S. Editor

A 28 year old man who allegedly tried to sell NTUC shopping vouchers on Carousell, have been arrested by the police for the scam. The man had allegedly tried to make a quick profit by selling the vouchers but did not give his buyer the agreed amount after receiving the payment.

The police had received a report from a victim on May 16, who purchased S$500 worth of NTUC Fairprice vouchers from the man at a discounted price of S$470. After payment was made by the victim, she discovered that the envelope contained only S$250 worth of NTUC vouchers. The suspect then became uncontactable.

So many scams happening everywhere. It seems easy now for anyone to fall prey to such scams. In our pursuit of finding cheap things to buy online, we maybe let our guard down, and become easy targets for cheats like this.
